Argentine Tango starts Jan. 14
Welcome back everyone!
Ballroom, Argentine Tango, and Swing lessons all start next week (see the Class Schedule for more info). Tango is doing things a bit differently this semester… here’s the details:
- Tango will be held off campus this semester. Don’t worry; it’s not far. The Rice Graduate Apartments (1515 Bissonnet) are ten minutes walking north of campus, or the shuttlebus that says “Graduate Apts” will take you straight there. There is limited parking in front of the building, or you can park on some of the surrounding residential streets. This means:
- We have more space!
- We get to use the new surround system audio there.
- No parking fees!
- We have an intermediate class. This is especially for all those who took Indre’s class last semester. We’ll continue where we left off (with some review, of course!)
- Classes will run in cycles of five weeks each.
- Whew, less weeks to commit to!
- We’ll learn new things in each cycle, so feel free to take both.
- Hey, if you like the first cycle, bring all your friends to the second. =)
See you next week!

Hi, i’m a graduate student, i’m very interested in tango and i will be glad to take lesson, so let me know how i can do.
Thanks,
Andrea.
Hi Andrea,
I hope you were there yesterday! I can’t quite remember all the names that were there. =) There’s no initial registration; just show up to class. If you did miss the first class, you can still come to the second (next week), but after that we will close registration until the second cycle ends.
Hey everyone. Sorry I missed the last class. Just wanted to let you know that I’ll definitely be showing up tomorrow.
Is it too late to join the class? If it is when will I have the opportunity to join?
Thanks
Because the class is already in its fourth week of lessons, we are not allowing any new students in. This is simply because we’ve learned a lot in those four weeks, and it would be a lot of work for you, not to mention unfair to the class, to catch you up. However, each cycle is only five classes, so we will start a new cycle of lessons (both ATF I and ATF II) on February 18th. I hope you can come then!
I’ve been wanting to take tango argentine lessons for months but haven’t got the time to. When will the next cycle begin? Do I need to register (I’m not Rice student)?
Thanks
